SASA To Start The Construction Of The PTA Facility With A Cost Of 935 Million Dollars
An official agreement has been reached to start the construction of the PTA plant, which will be built in the Adana complex and expected to have an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons.
According to the statement made by SASA, the process is expected to be completed within two years, while the official agreement has been reached in the ongoing negotiations with the Spanish company Technicas Reunidas.
Within the framework of the agreement, the PTA plant to be built in the SASA complex in Adana will have an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons. With the agreement, the Spanish company will provide turnkey engineering, procurement, and assembly services for the facility.
The PTA facility, whose investment cost is 935 million dollars and will produce its own energy, will have the highest capacity in a single line in the world. At the same time, the project established in Turkey that carry the highest capacity petrochemical plant property, it will create one of the first steps in the petrochemical investments planned Yumurtalık in the center of Adana.
Signing the agreement on behalf of SASA, İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the Board, noted that with this development, SASA will become the largest manufacturer in its field except of China and India.
SASA has invested $ 1 billion in the last three years
According to the information provided, SASA has reached the highest capacity except of China and India by increasing its polyester production capacity to 1.4 million tons per year with an investment of approximately 1 billion dollars in the last three years. The company which will strengthen its competitive position by producing its own raw material with the new PTA investment, to reduce Turkey's dependency on these critical areas.
The company, which has created nearly 3 thousand additional jobs with an investment of approximately 800 million dollars in the last 3 years, has contributed 300 million dollars to the economy.
